The elegant and neat packing of commodities in transparent film is one of the most noticeable and indicative signs of international commercial standard. Integration in the process of world civilized trade is impossible without understanding of major advantages of modern packing. Use of various polymer films as packing material is wide-spread in a world trade now. It became possible owing to technologies, using thermosetting effect of polymeric film. Such type of packing meets severe requirements, imposed by international commercial standard to the full extent. What types of commodities are desirable and accepted today to sell packed in polymer film? We will mention only several basic groups of commodities (as their complete list would take too much space).
These are:
bread and confectionery;
garden produce;
cosmetic goods;
household articles, cooking appliances, different cleaning substances and accessories for bathrooms and toilet rooms;
magazines, books, albums and other printed goods;
toys, gifts, compact disks and cassettes (audio- and video-), electric home appliances and photo goods, software;
commodities of different purpose, intended for sale in one set, and many other things.
It is also necessary to take into account this is not near a complete list. And it has a steady tendency to expansion.
In Russia, unlike countries with the developed market economy, the film package still did not become a generally accepted standard in trade. However, as far as the country becomes involved in a world market, a «packing wave» is going to attain our limits. That will result in a considerable increase of demand for packing equipment. The preference will probably be given to small and moderately priced semiautomatic devices.
By reason of abovementioned «Korobeynik» starts publication of series of materials in which we will try to familiarize our readers with present for today kinds and types of equipment for packing of commodities in shrinkable film. The similar type of packing allows to get products or wares, covered with film evenly and it follows the contours of commodity. Undoubted dignity of such packing is increase of term of storage of products. This film also helps to save flawless vendibility. All of it became possible owing to property of shrinkable film to shrink almost by one third at heating to the temperature about 70-80 degrees Centigrade. Polymer film possesses sufficient durability, but even in case of unforeseen damage or contamination of packing, commodity can be easily «repacked» (if damage did not touch a commodity) and it will get its original vendibility again. Now let"s pass from advantages of packing to the equipment as such.
Simple devices for packing in shrinkable film can be presented by the example of several models, which differ in size and, consequently, in price. As for firms-producers, it would be necessary here to speak about equipment of Italian firm INTERDIBIPACK. This equipment allows to get packing of high quality at minimum expenses. No wonder, if to take into account that Italy was pioneer in use of this new type of packing. Therefore it will be advisably to start introduction with presentation of equipment of series QUICK PACK of INTERDIBIPACK firm. Series includes five models: Mini Major, Flash Pack, Quick Pack, Maxi Pack and Mega Pack. The distinctive feature of all models is that packing and shrinkage are combined in one operation. There is also possibility to pack without thermosetting. Food PVC-film, 15-20 microns in thickness, is used in all abovementioned devices. It is shrinkable half-sleeve film, produced in rolls of standard winding 750 meters in length (150 - 1200 millimeters in width, that allows to change size of packing, minimizing amount of waste). All packing machines have a transparent lid, that enables realization of visual control of a shrinking process in case of necessity.
